StockMonster Meet-up Arnhem (Weekend of 28 February)
On the weekend of 28 February, 15 StockMonster members from all over the country met at the fair in Arnhem. What started out as a simple idea to see each other for once in real, quickly became a very cozy day full of Pokémon, trades and good conversations.
For a number of members the day started a bit earlier with moderator Neversleep, where first was gathered quietly to start the day. With a cup of coffee the chases of the day were discussed before everyone left for the fair.
At the fair itself, the cafeteria was actually the unofficial StockMonster headquarters. There was a lot of ripped off, personal collections were shown to each other, and cards regularly went hand to hand for trades. Beautiful finds were shared and of course also celebrated together.
In between I have been allowed to clean some cards for a few members their personal collections, which is always nice to do when someone wants to give a nice card just that little extra.
My own chases of the day were fortunately also a success:
a Gengar VMAX from Fusion Strike in PSA 9 and the Groudon IR from Paradox Rift in PSA 10, mission accomplished!
But maybe the best part of the day was the atmosphere:
a lot of laughing, helping each other, sharing stories and just enjoying the hobby together.
Afterwards, a small group went to eat together in Arnhem, where they talked a long time about the fair, the pulls and the finds of the day.
These kinds of moments show what StockMonster is all about:
not just deals and restocks, but mostly a community of people sharing the same hobby.
