The new Japanese Pokémon TCG set Ninja Spinner has just been released and as always they immediately looked at which cards jump out. Ninja Spinner is the Japanese set that is going to be released in English as "Mega Evolution: Chaos Rising" !
As expected, there is one card that explicitly draws attention:

👉 Mega Greninja ex . We love it!
Mega Greninja ex is the clear number one
Within the set is Mega Greninja ex currently by far the most valuable card.
The highest rare variant is around the about €490 on the Japanese market. That's a lot higher than the rest of the cards in this set.
This shows again how important a combination of popularity, design and playability is inside Pokémon TCG. As always, the Stockmonster advises to wait to buy singles because they will fall over time. The prices are determined by sales on Ebay and there are collectors who pay ridiculous amounts to have the card but as soon as possible, be patient.
Greninja has been a beloved Pokémon for years and with a strong Mega Evolution variant it was expected that this card would end at the top.
The rest of the top cards
After Mega Greninja ex follow a number of other cards that also perform well, but with clear distance. It seems a bit like Ninja Spinner looks a bit like Phantasmal Flames; One card that everyone wants in a set that actually doesn't have much in it that people like to collect.
Think of maps like:
- Mega Greninja ex (other variants)
- Roxie picnic performance (SAR)
- Mega Floette ex (SAR)
- Cincino ex (SAR)

These cards are roughly around the ~€25–€35 right now.
The difference with the number one is therefore considerable.
One clear chase card
What stands out about Ninja Spinner is that the set leans strongly on one card.
This is more common with Pokémon sets:
- one card everyone's after
- some strong secondary cards
- and below the rest of the set
With Ninja Spinner that difference is only extra large.
👉 Mega Greninja ex is clearly the chase card of the set
Why exactly Greninja?
The success of this card is no coincidence. The last successful chase-card of Greninja was that of Twlight Masquerade, in which the Greninja also carries the set .
Mega Greninja combines several factors that are important for value:
- Greninja is a popular Pokémon
- the card has strong artwork
- and is expected to be competitive
This combination ensures that both collectors and players are interested.
What does this mean for the set?
When one card rises so clearly above the rest, you often see the same pattern:
- the community's focus is on that one map
- pack openings run around that chase
- and the rest of the set gets less attention
That does not mean that the other cards are bad, but that they are less in the spotlight.
Conclusion
The first market data around Ninja Spinner makes one thing clear:
👉 Mega Greninja ex is the card of this set
With a big head start on the rest, this card currently determines the hype and interest around Ninja Spinner.
As so often with Pokémon TCG also applies here:
One strong card can make a whole set.
