The Pokémon Company has shared a new trailer for Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution and with that it is finally confirmed what many collectors were hoping for: Mega Rayquaza returns to the Pokémon TCG.
The presence of Mega Rayquaza alone creates enormous hype. Rayquaza has been one of the most popular Pokémon within the hobby for years and cards of this Pokémon are often among the most sought after chase cards of their sets.
Also the name Delta Reign you'll notice immediately. Within the community there is already plenty of speculation about a possible wink to the old Delta Species- period from the EX-era. Whether this actually means that Delta Species returns in a certain way has not yet been confirmed.
It can also be a reference to Mega Rayquaza itself and the famous Delta Episode from Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Still, it is not surprising that collectors immediately become enthusiastic about this name.
For now, we know one thing for sure: Mega Rayquaza is confirmed. And if this set gets one strong Special Illustration Rare or other chase card, Delta Reign can become one of the most discussed sets of the Mega Evolution-era.
