After months of rumors, teasers and speculation, the moment seems to finally come. The long awaited Pokemon TCG 30th Anniversary set will be officially revealed on Monday and collectors all over the world are looking forward to what may be one of the biggest releases of the past few years and so will we! Fun to speculate and dream about what might come!
Pokémon Japan has officially announced that the long-awaited 30th Celebration set will be fully unveiled on Monday, June 1. The presentation is scheduled for 22:00 Japanese time, which amounts to Monday morning for Europe.
For many collectors this is without doubt one of the most hyped Pokémon TCG releases from recent years.
Previously it was announced that the set introduces a completely new rarity, that all the cards in the boosters will be foil and that each booster contains a Pikachu card. In addition, there have been rumors for a long time about nostalgic elements and references to the rich history of the Pokémon franchise.
What does the Stockmonster community expect?
Although Pokémon is finally going to show the first maps of the Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary set, the speculation mill within the community is now in full swing. As always, expectations vary considerably, but there are a number of theories that come back remarkably often.
Many collectors hope to introduce a completely new Chrome rarity. No one knows exactly what that means, but the idea of an extra premium finish that is exclusive to the 30th anniversary clearly appeals to the imagination.

There is also much talk about the possibility of a kind of Generation 2 version of Pokémon 151. A set that completely revolves around Johto, with all beloved Pokémon from Gold & Silver in a modern style. For many collectors who grew up with the second generation that would be a dream scenario.
In addition, the hope exists that Pokémon will bring back a large number of iconic maps from the hobby's history. Not as simple reprints, but as completely new Full Arts and Special Illustration Rares, featuring modern artwork and the famous 30th Anniversary stamp. Maps that are immediately recognisable for collectors, but at the same time add something new to the hobby.
What is striking is that Pokémon seems to be incorporating references to video games more and more into maps in recent years. From recognizable locations to hidden details and easter eggs for fans who know the games through and through. Therefore, some members expect the Pokemon TCG 30th anniversary set not only to be a tribute to the TCG, but to 30 years Pokémon as a whole. Cards full of winking to iconic moments from the games would fit perfectly to an anniversary set of this size.
Of course, for the time being all this remains speculation. On Monday we finally know what Pokémon actually has in store with the Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration set.
Within the Stockmonster community, expectations vary considerably. Some collectors are hoping for a modern version of Celebrations from 2021, while others are especially curious to see how Pokémon will tackle a 30-year anniversary without leaning entirely on nostalgic reprints.
Whatever the content ultimately becomes, Monday seems to be the start of what may be one of the biggest Pokémon TCG releases of 2026.
the entire Pokémon TCG community is probably spaming F5 at the same time on Monday morning.
Personally, I particularly hope for modern SIR versions of past iconic maps. Cards where you immediately think: Yes, I recognize them, but with artwork and details that show how far the hobby has come. Should Pokémon choose that route, this set could be very special for many collectors.
